A short story about us

My name is Abdel, and I’m a local in Essaouira. I’ve always been passionate about photography, capturing the beauty of this amazing city. One morning, after finishing a photoshoot with a tourist, we decided to have breakfast together. As we talked, I asked her, “Why do you visit Essaouira so often?”

She replied, “Because of the horses.”

I was curious and asked, “What’s so special about the horses here?”

She then asked me, “Have you ever ridden a horse before?” I told her, “No, I’ve never been on a horse in my life.”

Without hesitation, she said, “Tomorrow will be your first ride with me.”

The next day, I went for my first ride, and it was truly life-changing. The feeling of being on a horse, the connection with the animal, and the beauty of Essaouira from the saddle were indescribable. I immediately fell in love with horses.

That moment sparked something in me. I realized that I wanted to share this incredible experience with others. It became my mission to help people live their dream of riding horses in Essaouira. And that’s how Essaouira Portrait was born.

Words can’t fully capture the magic of being with horses it’s something you have to experience for yourself. I’m forever grateful to the tourist who changed my life and introduced me to this world.
